Counselling for First Responders in Ontario
First responders carry what most people never see. The pressure, the trauma, the responsibility, and the expectation to stay composed no matter what the call brings. I specialize in supporting police officers, firefighters, paramedics, dispatchers, correctional officers, and frontline professionals working in high-stress, high-risk environments.
I hold an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and went on to pursue my Masters of Social Work, building a strong foundation in both the science of behaviour and clinical therapeutic practice. I have furthered my training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Brief Solution-Focused interventions, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I understand the culture of service — the loyalty, the dark humour, the unspoken rules, and the cumulative weight that builds over time. Therapy with me is direct, practical, and grounded in the realities of shift work, critical incidents, and operational stress injuries.
My work is trauma-informed and rooted in evidence-based approaches to effectively treat PTSD, cumulative trauma, anxiety, burnout, and the strain the job can place on relationships and identity.
Confidentiality is paramount. Your privacy is protected in accordance with professional and legal standards, and therapy remains separate from your workplace. This is a secure space to speak openly — without filters.
I offer virtual counselling across Ontario. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate shift work.
